Description of exercise The Putty thumb pull up exercise is a hand strengthening exercise that uses a soft, pliable material called putty. To perform this exercise, you will need a small ball of putty and a flat surface to work on. Then, using your thumb and fingers, pull the putty up towards you in a pulling motion. Hold this position for a few seconds before releasing and repeating.
