    When to avoid this exercise

  • Double scaption exercise, also known as the Y-T-W-L exercise, is a popular shoulder strengthening exercise that involves lifting the arms in a Y, T, W, and L shape. While this exercise can be beneficial for many individuals, there are certain situations where it should be avoided. Firstly, if you have a current shoulder injury or pain, it is important to avoid this exercise as it can aggravate the injury and cause further damage. Additionally, if you have any existing shoulder or neck conditions, such as rotator cuff tears or cervical spine issues, it is best to avoid this exercise as it puts strain on these areas. Furthermore, if you have limited range of motion in your shoulders, it may be difficult to perform this exercise correctly and could potentially lead to injury. Lastly, if you are pregnant or have recently given birth, it is best to avoid this exercise as it can put unnecessary strain on the shoulders and back. In summary, it is important to consult with a healthcare professional before attempting the double scaption exercise to ensure it is safe for your individual circumstances. If you experience any pain or discomfort while performing this exercise, stop immediately and seek medical advice.
