Description of exercise Breaststroke is a popular swimming exercise that involves a frog-like kicking motion and a simultaneous arm movement. It is often considered the most graceful and relaxing stroke, making it a favorite among beginners and recreational swimmers. To perform the breaststroke, the swimmer starts in a prone position with arms extended forward and legs extended back. The arms then sweep out to the sides while the legs bend at the knees and bring the feet towards the buttocks. The arms then come back together in front of the body while the legs kick out and straighten. This continuous motion propels the swimmer through the water. Breaststroke is a great full-body workout that improves cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength, and flexibility.
