Description of exercise | PROM wrist flexion/extension exercises are a type of physical therapy exercise designed to improve the range of motion in a child’s wrist joint. This exercise involves gently moving the wrist joint through its full range of motion, from bending the wrist down (flexion) to bending it up (extension). It can be done with the help of a therapist or caregiver, who gently guides the child’s wrist through the movements. These exercises help to maintain flexibility in the wrist joint, improve circulation, and prevent stiffness and muscle tightness. They are often prescribed for children with conditions such as cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, or after a wrist injury or surgery. |
