Description of exercise The Heron exercise, also known as the Heron’s formula, is a mathematical formula used to calculate the area of a triangle when the length of all three sides are known. It was named after the Greek mathematician, Hero of Alexandria. The formula states that the area of a triangle is equal to the square root of s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c), where s is the semi-perimeter of the triangle and a, b, and c are the lengths of its sides. This exercise is commonly used in geometry and is a fundamental concept in the field of mathematics. It is also used in real-life applications, such as construction and engineering, to calculate the area of irregularly shaped triangles.
