Description of exercise Dips assisted exercise is a compound movement that primarily works the chest, shoulders, and triceps muscles. To perform this exercise, one must grip the handles of the dip machine or resistance band and lower their body until their arms are at a 90-degree angle, then push back up to the starting position.
