It involves standing behind the person you are caring for and gently lifting one of their legs backward, while keeping their knee straight. This movement helps to stretch the hip flexors and strengthen the gluteal muscles. It is especially beneficial for individuals who spend long hours in a seated position, as it helps to counteract the effects of prolonged sitting. Caregivers can perform this exercise with the person sitting on a chair or lying on a bed. It is a great way to promote mobility and prevent hip stiffness in individuals with limited movement.
