Description of exercise | The Cane Assist Behind Back Lift exercise is a strength training exercise that primarily targets the muscles in the arms, shoulders, and back. It involves using a cane or stick to assist in lifting the arms behind the back, which helps to improve flexibility and range of motion in the shoulders. To perform this exercise, stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and hold the cane with both hands behind your back. Slowly lift the cane upwards, keeping your elbows close to your body, until your arms are fully extended. Hold for a few seconds, then lower the cane back down. This exercise can be modified by using a longer cane or adding weights to increase the intensity. It is beneficial for improving posture, reducing shoulder pain, and increasing upper body strength. |
