Description of exercise | Cane assist arm out exercise is a physical therapy exercise designed to improve arm strength and stability using a cane for support. This exercise involves standing with feet shoulder-width apart and holding the cane with both hands, keeping the elbows slightly bent. The individual then lifts the cane out to the side, keeping the arms straight and parallel to the ground. The cane provides support and stability while the individual performs controlled movements to engage the muscles in the arms, shoulders, and back. This exercise can be modified by adjusting the distance of the cane from the body or adding resistance to increase the difficulty.
