Description of exercise BK prone quad set is a strengthening exercise that targets the quadriceps muscles in the front of the thigh. It is commonly used in physical therapy to improve knee stability and strength after an injury or surgery. To perform this exercise, lie on your stomach with your legs straight and your arms by your sides. Tighten your thigh muscles and press the back of your knee into the floor, lifting your foot slightly off the ground. Hold this position for a few seconds, then relax. Repeat for several repetitions, gradually increasing the hold time. This exercise can also be modified by placing a rolled towel or small pillow under the ankle for added resistance.

How to do exercise
  • Lie on stomach with pillow under thigh of residual limb.
  • Place another pillow or firm towel roll under shin as shown.
  • Push down into towel by straightening knee.
