Description of exercise Ball pendulum exercise is a simple and effective exercise that helps to improve coordination, balance, and core strength. It involves swinging a small ball attached to a string in a circular motion while standing or sitting. The movement of the ball requires constant adjustments of the body’s position, engaging the muscles in the arms, shoulders, and core. This exercise also helps to improve focus and concentration as the person tries to keep the ball moving in a continuous motion. It can be easily modified by changing the size or weight of the ball or by increasing the speed of the swing. Ball pendulum exercise is a great way to add variety to a workout routine and can be done anywhere with minimal equipment.

    When to avoid this exercise

  • The Ball pendulum exercise is a physical therapy exercise that involves swinging a weighted ball in a circular motion using the arms. While this exercise can be beneficial for improving shoulder strength and range of motion, there are certain situations where it should be avoided:Recent shoulder injury: If you have recently injured your shoulder, it is important to avoid any exercises that may aggravate the injury. The Ball pendulum exercise can put strain on the shoulder joint and may worsen the injury.
  • Shoulder instability: If you have a history of shoulder instability or dislocation, it is best to avoid this exercise as it can put excessive stress on the joint and increase the risk of further injury.
  • Severe shoulder pain: If you are experiencing severe shoulder pain, it is important to avoid any exercises that may exacerbate the pain. The Ball pendulum exercise can be quite strenuous on the shoulder and may worsen the pain.
  • Limited range of motion: If you have limited range of motion in your shoulder, it is best to avoid this exercise as it requires a full range of motion to be performed correctly. Trying to perform this exercise with limited range of motion can lead to further injury.
  • Pre-existing medical conditions: If you have any pre-existing medical conditions that affect your shoulders, such as arthritis or rotator cuff tears, it is important to consult with your doctor before attempting the Ball pendulum exercise. They can advise you on whether it is safe for you to perform this exercise.
