Description of exercise Peek-a-boo is a classic game that is often played with infants and young children. It involves hiding one’s face or body behind an object or hands and then revealing it with a cheerful “peek-a-boo!” The game is not only entertaining, but it also helps to develop a child’s cognitive and social skills. By playing peek-a-boo, children learn about object permanence, which is the understanding that objects continue to exist even when they are out of sight. It also helps to strengthen the bond between the child and the person playing with them. Peek-a-boo is a simple yet effective exercise that promotes interaction, communication, and laughter between children and adults.

    When to avoid this exercise

  • Peek a boo is a fun and interactive game that is enjoyed by many young children. However, there are certain situations where this exercise should be avoided. Firstly, if a child is feeling unwell or is experiencing any physical discomfort, it is best to avoid playing peek a boo. This game involves sudden movements and can be physically demanding, which may worsen the child’s condition. Secondly, if a child has a history of anxiety or sensory issues, peek a boo may not be a suitable exercise for them. The sudden disappearance and reappearance of a person or object may cause distress or overstimulation for these children. Lastly, if the child is in an environment where there are potential hazards, such as near a staircase or in a crowded area, it is best to avoid playing peek a boo. This will ensure the safety of the child and those around them.
