Description of exercise Scissors inter exercise is a popular workout move that targets the abdominal muscles and helps to strengthen and tone the core. To perform this exercise, lie on your back with your legs extended straight up in the air. With your hands behind your head, lift your head and shoulders off the ground and engage your core muscles. Then, lower one leg towards the ground while keeping the other leg lifted. Alternate between lowering each leg, crossing them over each other in a scissor-like motion. This exercise helps to improve balance, stability, and coordination while also working the hip flexors, lower abs, and obliques. It can be modified for different fitness levels by adjusting the height of the legs and the speed of the movement.

How to do exercise
  • Lie on back, neck and upper body flat on floor. Begin with knees bent to 45 degrees, hips at 90 degrees with hands at knees as shown.
  • Exhale, bringing right leg toward chest, left leg extending to 45 degrees. Reach hands to right leg. Breath and oscillate right leg twice.
  • Inhale while returning to start position, exhale and repeat sequence with left leg to chest and right leg extended.
  • Repeat.
