Description of exercise | The outward ankle towel stretch is a simple exercise that helps to improve flexibility and mobility in the ankle joint. To perform this exercise, sit on the floor with your legs straight out in front of you. Place a towel or resistance band around the ball of your foot, holding onto the ends with both hands. Slowly point your toes away from your body, using the towel to gently pull your foot towards you. Hold for 10-15 seconds, then release. Repeat on the other foot. This exercise helps to stretch the muscles and tendons in the ankle, promoting better range of motion and reducing the risk of injury. It is a great warm-up or cool-down exercise for athletes and can also be beneficial for those with ankle stiffness or pain. |
