Description of exercise Kneeling assist with support is a strength training exercise that targets the muscles in the lower body, specifically the quadriceps, glutes, and core. To perform this exercise, one must start by kneeling on a mat or soft surface with the knees hip-width apart. Then, place both hands on the ground in front of the body for support. From this position, slowly lower the body towards the ground, keeping the core engaged and the back straight. Once the thighs are parallel to the ground, push through the heels to return to the starting position. This exercise helps improve balance, stability, and overall lower body strength. It can be modified by using a stability ball or resistance bands for added challenge.

How to do exercise
  • Place child on their knees next to a stool or couch letting them use their arms to help support themselves.
  • Place one hands on their hips, other on their trunk and provide slight downward pressure while keeping their trunk upright.
