Description of exercise | The Jaw tongue depressor stretch exercise is a simple and effective way to improve jaw mobility and reduce tension in the jaw muscles. To perform this exercise, place a tongue depressor between your upper and lower teeth and gently bite down on it. Then slowly open your mouth as wide as you can, using the tongue depressor to guide and stretch your jaw muscles. Hold this position for a few seconds before releasing and repeating the stretch. This exercise can help alleviate jaw pain and stiffness, and can also be beneficial for those with temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder. It is important to consult with a healthcare professional before trying this exercise, especially if you have any preexisting jaw conditions. |
